Rosemary De Maio obtained her classical high school diploma and graduated in Law from the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna with the highest honors (110 cum laude), defending a thesis in criminal law entitled “The repression of the corruption phenomenon as the chosen field of penal populism: the investment in accessory penalties“, supervised by Prof. Vittorio Manes.
Since her university studies, she has oriented her path towards criminal law, deepening her knowledge of its main themes through specialized training activities and significant practical experiences, including an internship at the Court of Appeal of Bologna and legal assistance activities carried out at the “Rocco D’Amato” District Prison in Bologna.
In 2023, following her graduation, she was awarded the Alumni Awards of the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, a recognition conferred upon recent graduates who have distinguished themselves for their academic merit and their commitment to activities benefiting the community.
After collaborating with law firms operating in the criminal law sector, since June 2023 she has been collaborating with the BRB Law Firm, where she completed her legal traineeship and, since September 2025, has been practicing as a Lawyer.
Her professional activity is predominantly focused on economic criminal law, with particular reference to corporate crimes, corporate liability for crimes pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, tax crimes, environmental crimes, and crimes relating to occupational health and safety.
She provides consulting and assistance, both judicial and extrajudicial, in favor of individuals, companies, and entities. She also deals with corporate compliance and corporate liability for crimes, collaborating with Supervisory Bodies in the performance of the control and supervisory activities provided for by Legislative Decree No. 231/2001.
She is currently attending the updating and training course for criminal lawyers qualifying for registration in the single national list of defense counsels “Antonio Spinzo” for the qualification to perform the functions of court-appointed lawyer, organized by the Bologna Bar Association.
